Milo Sharafeddine

Milo Sharafeddine is a writer and visual artist from Lebanon, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in artistic research. Their work treads the border of didacticism and intimacy, heavy with theoretical reference but always informed by the deeply personal.

In both content and methodology, Milo chases the non-linear, transformative, and omissive. Currently, their research centers around ghosthood (or what it means to be a ghost) and how it relates to feelings of comfort and familiarity. Deconstructing themes of identity, technology, and place, their study intersects with subjects like hauntology, phenomenology, cybernetics, and horror video games. In its pursuit of subtext and fluidity, their work tends to start as text and expand into multimedia, drawing from the feelings and aesthetics of fear, nostalgia, and the uncanny.

في كل من المحتوى والمنهجية، تلاحق ميلو الغير خطي، والتحويلي، والشبه مغفي. في الوقت الحالي، تتمركز أبحاثها حول الأشباح (أو ما يعنيه أن تكون شبحًا) وكيف يرتبط بمشاعر الراحة والألفة. عبر تفكيك موضوعات الهوية والتكنولوجيا والمكان، تتقاطع دراستهم مع موضوعات مثل علم الهونتولوجيا، علم الظواهر، السَيبَرناتيّة وألعاب الفيديو الرعب. في سعيها وراء الفرعي والمرونة، يبدأ عملها كنص ويتوسّع في وسائل متعددة، مستمداً من مشاعر وجماليات الخوف والحنين إلى الماضي والغرابة.
