Inflatables As Tools For Action

In this workshop we will dive into the world of inflatable sculptures and how they can be used to draw attention and change people's behavior. Shailoh will tell about her experience as part of the collective Tools for Action and give a peek into her hybrid practice as an artist-educator-activist. We will start with a crash course on the history of inflatables and the theory of cybernetics and spectacles, also touching on tactical media, critical making and artivism. And we will also experiment with building our own inflatables! You will learn about the different materials and techniques required to get started yourself, working with a minimal amount of light-weight material, we can build huge temporary constructions in a relatively short time.
